Transition Spin Coating Photochromic Lenses

What is the process of "Spin Coating"?
Spin Coating involves dispensing a liquid photochromic material onto the surface of a lens, which is then spun at high speed.
Centrifugal force spreads the liquid evenly across the entire lens surface, forming an extremely thin and uniform film.
Subsequently, this film is solidified—through curing methods such as ultraviolet (UV) light exposure—to firmly adhere it to the lens surface.
Contact usMore Concentrated Dark Color
Photochromic molecules are distributed at a high concentration uniformly across the outermost layer. During tinting, all the reactions are concentrated within this thin surface layer, much like a pure black filter.
As a result, the resulting gray appears deeper, and more pure in tone, with almost no residual base color.
Reduced Interference from the Substrate
The tinting layer in spin coating is on the very exterior, which largely isolates any minor color bias potentially introduced by the lens substrate itself.
This allows the purest dark color of the photochromic material to be expressed.
